I started this blog back in 2010 and never saw myself taking a break from it, because I loved it so much. I was new to writing and had so much I wanted to learn and share about the process – and WordPress is a gold mine to anyone curious about creative writing and publishing! Over time, some of the people I followed started to take breaks from blogging to focus on their actual writing. It can be a tough pill to swallow when you’re in a certain mode, like blogging and connecting with bloggers, but someone else you follow isn’t feeling it and wants to take a break. My turn came where I found blogging to be more of a hindrance than a help to my creativity. Sometimes, you have to do what’s best for you and switch things up!
I took a long break from regular blogging between 2016 and 2021. That hiatus gave way to some of the most productive writing times I’ve ever had. I was living in my dream city, working, writing at cafes, and publishing books. I didn’t miss blogging at all during that time, so it was the right decision to make. I figured why write about writing when you can just write?
Fast forward from 2016 to this year and I’ve learned a lot about being an indie author. I thought it would be nice to share some of what I’ve learned while connecting with other bloggers and reading what they have to say. If the lifestyle I’ve created for myself can encourage or inspire someone else, then I’m helping to make the world a better place. With that purpose in mind, it now makes sense to write about writing.
Blogging always has this fresh type of energy when you’re really into it, too. As a reader, I can tell when someone loves what they’re posting about and that positivity can be contagious.
So, the blogger in me is back with a vengeance! I’m excited to connect with some bloggers again (Many of whom are also authors!) and share some things I’ve learned (or things I want to learn more about) and keep building on my writing journey.
If you’re new to my blog, welcome. 🙂 If you’re someone who’s been following this blog for a while, thank you for sticking with me. There will be some new surprises on the way – contests, cover reveals, writing updates, etc. I’m very excited for what 2021 has in store for my books and writing progress and I hope to read about all the exciting things you guys are up to this year, too!
Thank you so much for reading and following me!
What are your writing goals for this year? Please let me know in the comments below. 🙂

If I can finish three short stories by December, I will be extremely happy! I am a very slow writer. I’m glad I came across your blog, and I’m looking forward to reading your insights!
