A Creative Writer Answers Google Questions About Creative Writers

I thought that I would try something different on my blog and answer some common Google questions about creative writing. The search today is “Why do creative writers…”

Why do creative writers write? Because we simply have to. We have stories to tell and things to say and there’s nothing which can stop that need to sit down and write. We connect with others and the world through creativity and words are our medium of choice. I don’t believe anyone chooses to be a creative writer – the inspiration chooses you. It can’t be stopped.

What do creative writers do? Besides writing, creative writers are capable of doing many things. Some of us are professionals in a variety of professions. Others never climb high up in the career ladder, but they find a job that won’t interfere too much with their creativity. Each writer is different and we all have our own interests, hobbies, talents. I personally love nature walks, music, film, reading, fashion, travel, food. Believe it or not, I do many other things besides writing. 🙂

What do creative writers make hourly? I’m sure a lot of you are chuckling at this question. Writing isn’t known to be a well-paid profession unless you get signed on with a popular magazine or big publishing company. That said, some writers do make a live-able income off writing alone or they supplement it with other gigs/jobs. In general, writers would go by a monthly or yearly income since it’s more of a supplementary stream of money.

Hope you enjoyed this post! I’ll be doing another Google questions post soon. 🙂
