My Work In Progress Update

Hello everyone! Happy Friday. I have some exciting news about the book I’ve been working on. It is now completely finished! After several edits and a final proofread (which resulted in me adding 5K more words to the story), it’s now complete.

What’s it about?

My novel is about a young woman living in ancient Israel who has a very simple dream – to be a shepherd. She’s content to remain in the country all her life and work outdoors. The Assyrians, who were a great empire during this time period, plan to invade and conquer Israel. When a band of Assyrian spies invade a gathering that Zara attends, she’s captured and forced to become their prisoner. Her dreams are in ashes and she must gather every fabric of her inner strength to survive. I have titled it The Shepherd Girl. It seemed like the perfect title rather than using something more fancy as I’ve done for other books. It’s about an adventurous girl who overcomes much in life and still finds many moments of joy and peace. I’m very happy with how it’s turned out and I hope you’ll come to love my shepherd girl who is so much more than meets the eye.

The first draft was only around 50K words and it’s ended up being close to 60K words. While it’s not a super long read, every page is filled with passion and meaning. I truly hope you will enjoy this story.

When will it be released?

Very soon! I have already found the perfect book cover which I will be revealing tomorrow. *Squeal* I’m very excited to hear what you think of it! I’ll be disclosing the book’s release date along with the cover reveal. I’ll definitely post the links for where to buy it on my release day and it will be an affordable price that won’t affect your budget in any way.

Thank you for taking the time to read my blog today and for sharing a part of writing journey. I’m wishing you a great day!
