Book blurb:
“Give me ten days, and I can give you ten reasons not to die.” Evan paused. “And if I can’t change your mind by then, you can go jump off that cliff.”
If it weren’t for Evan Woods, Remy Montgomery would’ve been found dead at the bottom of the Hudson River, crushed by rocks from suicide.
My review:
This is one of the sweetest things I’ve ever read. I stumbled upon this story on Wattpad and the title drew me in since I’m always interested in stories that tackle mental health issues. Remy is a suicidal orphan who hides a lot of pain behind her fake smile at school. When she is about to jump off a cliff, one of her schoolmates, Evan, surprises her by stopping her from doing it. Having no friends and no experience with intimate contact at all, Remy is shocked that this boy is so concerned about her life. He offers an ultimatum – she spends 10 days with him where he shows her reasons to live. At first she’s sarcastic and on guard, but then she finds out that she actually enjoys this friend thing. I was pleasantly surprised at the gentle style of the story – I was waiting for a crushingly sad ending and was happy with how the story ended up. This is definitely worth a read! 5/5 stars |
It looks like this story is only available on Wattpad, so if you have the app, you can search for the author/book name and read it there. 🙂
It sounds like a wonderful story.
Thank you so much. 🙂
