10 Ways To Enjoy A Rainy Day

Like any type of weather, there are always ways to make the most of a rainy day.

Here’s some ideas of fun things you can do the next time you wake up and it’s raining.

#1 Make a tea and go for a rainy forest walk

One of my favourite things to do is go for a rainy walk in the forest. The way the mist and fog wraps around the trees and that fresh smell. It’s certainly worth doing to clear your mind and enjoy nature in a different way. Just be sure to bundle up and bring an umbrella!

#2 Binge on some TV shows

You could do this one in the same day as your rainy forest walk or you could opt to spend the whole day watching some episodes from a show you enjoy. Or do a movie marathon! There’s nothing like getting bundled up on a dark day and enjoying some TV/film time.

#3 Curl up and read a book

This is another nice way to stay cozy. You could even make a little self-care ritual out of it. Light a candle, brew a hot beverage, choose your warmest blanket, and indulge in a good book.

#4 Work on a new project

If it’s raining hard or really cold outside, this is a great time to work on something you’ve been meaning to do for a while but haven’t had the chance. That could mean baking some desserts, finishing up a room, decluttering, cleaning, etc.

#5 Head to the library or book store

I don’t know what it is, but making a fun little errand on a rainy day like grabbing a new book can be a great feeling. You also get to experience walking a little bit in the rain, too.

#6 Go to a cafรฉ and read/write/do some work

There’s something really quaint about going to a cafรฉ when it’s raining. You can warm up with a hot beverage while the rain patters against the window.

#7 Cook some stew

Few things are cozier than making a soup or stew on a rainy day. Your place will smell amazing and it’ll keep you warm.

#8 Take photos

Rainy days can make some lovely pictures. Whether you prefer natural settings or cityscapes (or both or in between), there’s a lot of opportunity to capture the beauty of a grey day.

#9 Have an at-home spa day

While you’re inside, it’s a lovely time to pamper yourself. Light a candle, play some soothing music, draw a bubble bath, put on a face mask, or give yourself a manicure.

#10 Head over to a garden greenhouse

If you’re in need of a little tropical feeling, there’s nothing like a greenhouse with bright flowers. Think of it as a mini escape and you’ll be able to stay warm in the process.

I hope you enjoyed these ideas! Feel free to share any others you might have below. ๐Ÿ™‚

  1. Just dance in rainy day ๐Ÿ˜…
Here whenever it rains, lights goes off and tv too, so tv is out of picture.
I really like to sit and watch the rain falling on the trees and plants.

  2. All ideas are interesting ๐Ÿ™ƒone more ,Fun with friends while watching the horror film in the darkroom rain voice make it more scary .๐Ÿ˜š๐Ÿ˜‡โœจGreat post ๐Ÿคž

  3. Those are all good suggestions. In our case we also need to comfort Rollo our four year old mini-Australian Shepherd who is afraid of the pitter patter. Also three years ago our neighborhood was destroyed by a tornado. What started as rain and a thunderstorm quickly grew into disaster. $50,000.00 repairs on our house, which luckily the insurance paid. I’m wondering if his fear of rain might have been because of that. Personally I think rain and a book is cozy. Rollo begs to differ though.
