Some of us enjoy organizing our homes. I am one of them. I find it relaxing and almost meditative. However, some people don’t enjoy it as much. There are definitely ways to make organizing more fun! I’ll share some tips below.
#1 Play fun music
Nothing makes time pass nicely like great music. Be sure to play some catchy tunes while you’re organizing or cleaning and you’ll be sure to enjoy the task(s) a lot more. Organizing can always double as a solo dance party. Why not?
#2 Imagine how nice your place will look once it’s organized
Believe it or not, imagining how nice your place will look once the organizing/cleaning/de-cluttering is finished can be a great motivating factor. Also, once it’s done it’s done. You won’t have to think about it anymore. Knowing your home is clean and in good order gives us great peace of mind and it can help make our space feel more like a haven.
#3 Treat yourself after
Schedule an activity or plan a tasty treat right after you’ve finished organizing your space. It gives you something to look forward to and hey, it never hurts to give yourself positive reinforcement, right?
#4 Light a scented candle
While you organize your room/home, it’s nice to have a scented candle lit at the same time. It gives a cozy, calming energy while you work and can make your place smell nice.
#5 Brew your favourite hot beverage
Taking small breaks while you work to sip on some coffee/tea/hot chocolate can make the task a lot more enjoyable.
#6 Break down your tasks into smaller steps
Depending on what you’re doing, breaking down the tasks into smaller steps can help them seem less daunting. For example, say you want to de-clutter your closet. To make it seem less of a big task, you can first take out all the clothes, wipe down the shelves, sweep/vacuum, organize which clothes you want to keep, give away items you no longer want, and use totes/containers to store off-season or rarely worn items to clear up more hanger space. Then voila! It’s all done.
I hope you enjoyed my post today. Thank you so much for stopping by!
I love to put scented candles and plants in my room.
It makes it so homey. 😊❤️
