Book Review: Memory Road Trip

A wonderful road trip memoir

This was a wonderful read of a woman’s solo road trip across the U.S. I enjoyed reading about how she appreciated the sights of the desert and canyons. I felt genuine anxiety as I read about her experience getting lost – thankfully she survived that. What I thought was really poetic was how she reached out to the man who had recently passed away in the desert because he was also lost. While she didn’t believe in ghosts, she felt a connection to him and in her exhaustion asked him to help her if he could.

There’s a lot of amazing things that happen when you let the wind guide you, so to speak. I was sad when her long distance lover suddenly vanished from the navy. I can’t imagine how that must have felt, but the memories they shared were well worth writing about so that always means something.

Anyone who appreciates road trips or travel stories will love this one.

My Rating: 5/5 stars
