Stretching is important when it comes to our physical health and even mental health.

Here’s 3 reasons to stretch before bed!

It helps you relax before sleeping.

Stretching helps you unwind as you iron out those kinks in your muscles. It’s an act of self-care that helps you focus on the quiet moment. Some people prefer music. Regardless if you stretch to music or silence, it’s a great way to unwind for the night (especially after putting all your devices down).

It can relieve and prevent chronic pain

Some aches and pains we feel are caused by tight muscles or even bad posture. Stretching is a great way to relieve that tightness, helping to prevent headaches, back pain, knee pain, etc.

The fact that stretching also relieves stress means it could help reduce inflammation in the body. A win-win!

It can prevent injury

Some injuries are caused from overworked and tight muscles. Stretching them after a workout and before bed can help prevent future injuries.

It also improves flexibility, which is responsible for less pulled muscles. Having a good range of motion can help prevent muscle spasms or muscle injuries.

For a good stretching routine, you can search for some routines on YouTube. If you have a part of your body that’s particularly sore or any conditions related to the muscle, you can look up specific stretches that will bring relief.

Do you stretch often?

  1. sometimes I do, especially after the nighttime dishwashing work, that’s when I feel like really tired, but not a good tired, just an achiness. a good stretch helps me.

  2. stretching is really good for our body. I’m doing yoga these days and it’s always great to stretch before doing exercise or as you said, before going to bed.

  3. I don’t stretch enough. I don’t even stretch before I run. It is good advice. By the way I loved your book the Broken and the Foolish and I posted a 5-star review on Amazon but it has not posted yet.

  4. I use to do light yoga before bed and before getting out of bed. I def felt a lot better when I did and my sciatica wasn’t as much of a pain (literally) but now with kid #2, it’s hard to fit those things in… or choose them over sleep lol
